Die Baureihe 101 ist die eine Schnellfahr-Elektrolokomotive der Deutschen Bahn. Sie erreicht eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 220 km/h und eine Dauerleistung von 6.400 kW. Ihr Einsatzgebiet ist der IC/EC-Verkehr. Insgesamt 145 Exemplare dieser Maschinen, die als Ersatz für die Baureihe 103 bestellt wurden, wurden bis Ende 1999 in Dienst gestellt.
